Born in Lisbon, João grew up in Macao and has been passionate about languages from an early age. He has written for local English and Portuguese magazines and newspapers, and has worked as a translator for various MSAR government departments. He spent several years in radio, after which he went on to teach Portuguese and English in prominent local Chinese schools for the last six years, and is comfortable with impromptu public speaking and interpreting.
Florence started her career in interpretation back in 2012 whilst studying in London. After graduation, she subsequently went on to provide services at over 100 regional and international events covering different sectors such as law, medicine, finance and education; she has contributed to three publications on Macao educational and government institutions and Florence also currently holds a Level II Interpreter and Translator Status from the China Accreditation Test for Translators and Interpreters (CATTI).
Since completing her MA in Translation in 2009, Phoebe has provided Interpretation and Translation services for a wide range of events attended by international clients and local public departments. In addition, Phoebe has been teaching at two of Macao’s leading tertiary institutions for nearly ten years and has twice worked as a first round juror for the Macao Polytechnic Institute’s Macao-wide English Speech Contest.
Since completing his MA in Interpretation in 2003, Chun has worked extensively as a Translator and Interpreter. His rich and varied achievements include publications on Chinese medicine and a range of translations and interpretations for medical publications and conferences. In addition to translation, Chun held the position of In-house Editor of the Chinese Medicine Journal for over five years and worked as a Senior Research Associate at the LBNL Berkeley Center for Structural Biology in California.
